UGAMA MANAGEMENT/ FUNCTIONNING

I. Organs and Responsibilities

  1. The General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the organization and   is composed of all the 16 members.

  1. The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is composed of five members elected by the General Assembly for a term of three years renewable.

These include:

  • The Legal Representative of the organization
  • A Deputy Legal Representative
  • Three (3) Advisors
  1. Organ in Charge of Control/supervisory committee

The Organ in Charge of Control is composed of three members elected by the General Assembly for a term of two years. It is responsible for controlling the set of the organization, the respect of instructions and implementation of the decisions of administrative organs.

  1. Organ of conflict resolution

The Conflict resolution organ is composed at least by 3 members appointed and dismissed by the General Assembly. They are elected for a non-renewable mandate of 3 years.

  1. Coordination

The Management Committee is in charge of the daily management of UGAMA. The members are appointed from the staff by the Board of Directors. It is chaired by a Coordinator.

II. UGAMA Management/ Functioning

UGAMA pursue the following list of rules, regulations and policies that govern the everyday management and functioning:

  • Internal Rules of governance;
  • Law governing the staff;
  • Administrative and financial rules and procedures (MAPAF)
  • Internal and external control framework;
  • Grant-making policy and procedures;
  • Partners’ selecting policy and procedures;
  • Anti-fraud policy;
  • Prevention Sexual Exploitation and Abuse policy (PSEA)
  • Procurement policy;
  • Gender policy;
  • Child protection policy;
  • Environment policy;
  • Safeguarding policy, code of conduct and complaints mechanism.
