About the Project
UGAMA has benefited from a fund granted by UNDP through RGB to implement its very interesting project entitled “Reducing CHRONIC MALNUTRITION by empowering families to grow and eat nutritious food”. The project goal is to eliminate malnutrition among 80 households with children of under 2 years old and reduce the stunting.
The objective of the project is to improve the food security and resilience of vulnerable households with children under two years old and pregnant and breastfeeding women in 80 households in Ndaro sector, Ngororero district.
80 households with children of 1000 days received 4000 mushroom tubers, and 80 mushroom beds established where each household have a mushroom bed with 50 mushroom tubers.
160 hens distributed to 80 households where each household received 2 hens, and 207 hens are kept together at CHWs cooperative, therefore the eggs will be provided to 80 households; 2877 kg feeds for laying hens for 3 months were provided to recipients.
